SPORTS & WELL BEING
A Village Club whose reputation extends across the Wakefield Metropolitan area and well beyond

Membership is at record level - fast approaching 300 seniors and over 50 Juniors.

We welcome all abilities and ages - Juniors from 4 and seniors of any age.

Racing and competitions are encouraged, although not compulsory. We have members who can compete for prizes and those who simply enjoy participation.

We are affiliated to England Athletics and have a growing coaching team.

Members participate in road / multi-terrain / trail / cross country / ultra distance events and support local parkruns.
15th May 2021 saw the refurbished track up and running at its new home in Ackworth. Race meetings are held behind 55 Wakefield Road and Mount Dental Practice. See website for directions and details of race evenings.
ACKWORTH JUNIORS FOOTBALL CLUB
A village football club established in 1996 that welcomes boys and girls of all abilities into age groups that range from Under 7s to Under 18s.
- Over 300 young footballers enrolled in the club from Ackworth and surrounding areas.
- 22 teams competing in local leagues in Doncaster, Selby and Garforth.
- Weekly 'Kickabout Club' training session for players aged 5 to 6 year old.
- 40 fully qualified volunteer coaches plus some UEFA licensed coaches.
- Our home games are played at Carr Bridge, Ackworth School and Low Ackworth.
- Two-star England Football Accredited Club that follows the principles of the RESPECT campaign.
- Annual local fundraising events such as a fun run, gala and Christmas fun run.
Opportunities for females of all ages to get involved in being active whilst offering career pathways and personal development through the means of sport.
Our club ethos ensures our members have a sense of belonging by being part of a team and a great community organisation offering opportunity to all.
ACKWORTH JAGUARS JUNIORS (Rugby League)
We currently have 2 teams. They are the Ackworth Mini Jags (School Nursery and Reception) and the Under 7s (School Year 1 and 2)

Based in Ackworth and Pontefract, we are an energetic dance academy for high achievers offering competitive classes and dance purely for FUN!
Ballet, Tap, Ballroom, Latin, Freestyle, Cheer, Street and Acro.

ARTS & SOCIAL
Ackworth Needles & Pins is an adult's craft group that meets upstairs in the Parish rooms on Bell lane each Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm.
It's only £2 a session which includes a cuppa and we take it in turns to bake or buy some buns/cake/biscuits.
We all take a project to work on whilst we chat and sometimes have guest craftspeople to do a demo or we do a group activity.
All adult ages groups are very welcome.

Meeting at 7pm -9pm on Wednesday evenings, upstairs at the Community Centre, Bell Lane. £4 per session
ACKWORTH & DISTRICT HERITAGE GROUP

The Boys’ Brigade is one of the largest, Christian youth organisations in the UK. Members develop skills, build confidence, make friends, take responsibility and are encouraged to make a real difference in their communities.

Every Sunday at 8pm
