Last week we launched the Ackworth Photo Competition with the aim to hopefully making a 2022 calendar that we can sell to raise money for a charity and the response has been amazing!!

I probably shouldn't say this out loud but I'm a Londoner by birth...

The annual Ackworth Pram Race takes place on bank holiday weekend in August - the 29th.

We are going to trial using adverts on the website for a little bit to see how intrusive they are and how much revenue it creates.  We want to explore all options available to us and if we can get a steady income through this and not ask for donations, this may be preferable.  It may be a few days before they start appearing.

The 2021 Scarecrow Festival has just come to an end and it was fantastic to see such a vivid celebration of the history of Britain through the use of straw.  The standard was amazing again and it was very hard to judge the winners and that's why us organisers decided to pass some of the buck to those who created a scarecrow to enter.  Everyone who entered was asked to pick their top three scarecrows, the votes were scored and counted and the Participants' Choice winner was announced, alongside the Judge's Winner and Runner Up.
