2023 Festival Details
2023 is the King's Coronation year so we are holding the event on Coronation Day - Saturday 6th May.
The theme is therefore...
KINGS & QUEENS PAST or PRESENT, FACT or FICTION
This year is again particularly hard financially, for many families and therefore there will be no entry fee, but should anyone want to make a donation or raise funds along the way, all money will go to support something for the village.
Scarecrows to be displayed for 6th May and winners will be announced by the end of May. Prizes which are being donated by Ackworth Parish Council will be presented at the Gala on 24th June.
To get involved:
Step 1
Enter using form below, or a paper version which is available at Craft Inn, Parish Council Reception on Bell Lane, and the Co-op notice board or on the Ackworth Scarecrow Festival FaceBook Page
Step 2
Have fun making your scarecrow or scene and display it ready for the 6th May - Coronation Day
Step 3
Post a picture of your scarecrow with the question "Guess who?" for everyone to guess who it is on the FB site, stating the location so we can add it to the map.
Step 4
Enjoy guessing who all the wonderful scarecrows are that this amazing village creates this year. You can find them mapped here or see them on the Facebook page here. Judging will take place after the 8th and winners announced at the end of May. Prizes donated by Ackworth Parish Council, will be presented at the Gala on 24th June.
If you don't fancy making a scarecrow this year, you can still donate, as all money will be put to good use for the village .
